Upcoming Workshop – More than Mushrooms!

An Introduction to the Kingdom Fungi at Retford Park

This workshop introduces participants to the fungal curiosities of the National Trust property, Retford Park in Bowral.

Why are fungi so important to healthy gardens?

How do they form relationships with trees and other plants?

How can we maximise garden resilience by encouraging fungi?

Our day begins with an interactive session on the natural and cultural history of fungi using a variety of locally collected specimens. There will be ample opportunity to explore, discuss, handle and identify a great range of fungi.

We’ll then partake in an exciting foray among the great diversity of trees and habitat types in the garden, to search for fungi. Participants will learn how to identify fungi and observe their amazing contributions to garden and soil health.
