Fungus Discovery Workshop
This highly interactive workshop introduces participants to the diversity, ecology and curiosities of the Kingdom Fungi, specific to fungi found in the Central West NSW region but also within a wider Australian (and international) context.
Participants will learn to recognise the major fungal groups, develop basics skills in mushroom identification and the ecological function and significance of fungi. The morning session will be based around a large display table of fungus specimens collected from the local area. Participants will work in groups to systematically categorise and identify specimens using multiple senses, field guides and other resources.
Following the indoor session we will head to the field (reserve across the road) to search for species of interest and to put skills into practice in situ. Supplementary notes will also provided.
